TikTok Introduces More Assistance Tools for TikTok Shop Creators
TikTok expands support for TikTok Shop creators with new assistance tools designed to boost sales, improve management, and enhance the seller experience.
If you are a first-timer to TikTok Shop or if you are hoping to expand your product listings on the app, TikTok has added a range of new courses and guides for creators.
The updates include a redesigned Creator Pilot Program, content policy quizzes, a compliance score, and more details to provide sellers with a better understanding of the TikTok shopping ecosystem.
With the holiday season just around the corner, it is the perfect time to consider expanding your product listings to the app.
Updated Creator Pilot Program
TikTok has introduced an updated Creator Pilot Program aimed at helping sellers and affiliates navigate its shopping requirements while also preventing misuse of Shop tools.
According to TikTok:
“New Affiliate and Marketing creators with more than 1000, but fewer than 5,000 followers automatically begin their experience through a 30-day Creator Pilot Program. This program allows those who haven’t yet met requirements for full posting access to begin monetizing their content on TikTok Shop.”
This part restricts creators to certain usage caps, correlations you can lead no greater than 5 product merchandising movies & three live streams per week.
There are other Shop controls in place where the Shop is limiting participants from utilizing many other Shop tools, which should help ensure participants consume the entire curriculum of learning, ensuring that TikTok’s selling features are not misused.
Introducing Creator Policy Quizzes
TikTok has introduced Creator Policy Quizzes, which creators can go through to test their knowledge on the content policies:
“The answers can be found in the TikTok Shop Academy’s Content Policy. If one of your videos or livestreams receives a violation, and there’s a related quiz, you’re given the option of taking it. Doing so can refresh your knowledge about content policies and if you pass the quiz, improve your account standing as well.”
This adds motivation and pressure for the creators to stay updated and match the requirements of the platforms, which pushes the quality of the TikTok Shop content.
Key Metrics to Track Performance
TikTok now provides several key metrics to help Shop users track performance and compliance:
- A Creator Health Rating (CHR): It is a score from 0–1000, with the closer to 1000 the better, that evaluates the creator’s compliance with the relevant policies and any policy violations.
- Promotion Performance Score (PPS): Indicates the performance of promotional content along with promotional-related problems.
- Violation Snapshot: It displays a snapshot of the part of the live stream or the video, as well as what rules were broken and how this content actually violated the policy.
“If you violate a TikTok Shop Policy, the ticket
will show you a 2-minute slice of your live-stream or video that contained the violative content giving you a clearer picture of what specific content breached TikTok Shop policies.”
These tools help make the process more transparent for creators by enabling them to minimize suspension by proactively managing account restrictions and optimizing their listings.
Introducing Video Pre-Check Tool
TikTok has also launched a new Video Pre-Check Tool, which enables creators to upload and review videos before publishing:
“See if potential violations are detected and correct them before uploading the final version. Although it’s still possible to receive a violation after using the tool, it can reduce the likelihood of receiving one, and help you understand why certain types of content might be flagged.”
The Video Pre-Check Tool scans your video before release for many common offenses, like non-original clips, promotion on unrelated topics, and still frames, so you can act even before penalties occur.
Bottom Line
With TikTok emerging as an increasingly powerful product discovery platform, though, these latest tools may prove important for creators looking to capitalize on the outcome in the upcoming holiday gift-giving season.
If TikTok sticks around in its key markets, these updates could go a long way towards facilitating increased engagement via promotional reach.
