Meta Introduces Multiple Avatar Creation Feature

Meta has introduced a new feature that allows users to create multiple versions of their avatars for their profiles.

This update can add multiple versions of your avatar to your Meta account. It offers flexibility for people who want to alter their appearance or display various versions of themselves on multiple Meta platforms.

As shown in these example screens, if you want to set up an alternate avatar for your Meta profile, it will appear as an option across all your linked accounts (Facebook, Messenger, Instagram).

How to Create and Switch Avatars

The procedure for making multiple avatars is simple. 

Just go to the Settings and click on the “Account Settings” and then the “Avatar” option. It will bring you into the Avatar editor. Here, you’ll be able to tap on the three dots menu and choose “Switch Avatar.” From there, you’ll be able to select an existing avatar, or create one by using the Meta avatar customization tools.

Expanding Customization Options

It’s part of Meta’s overall effort to improve the process of creating avatars. Meta continues to improve its tools to help support its metaverse concept, in which digital avatars play an essential role in virtual and augmented real-world experiences. Meta’s avatar editor gives users a range of options to customization that allow users to design more personal digital representations.

Meta is also helping Horizon Creator Partners with new features. Creators are now able to upload custom textures or use generative AI retexturing tools to design custom avatar clothes through the Horizon Creator Portal. 

Furthermore, updated face parametric controls give users additional customization options, including haircuts that are new, face hair cosmetics, marks for beauty and much more.
