YouTube Tests New Feature for Displaying Collaborators on Video Clips

YouTube Tests New Feature to Tag Collaborators in Titles

YouTube is currently testing a new feature that lets creators show collaborators directly in the video Clips title display.

This new feature for displaying collaborators on video clips will increase the visibility of creators by assisting them reach wider audience through collaboration.

The New Collaboration Feature

As per YouTube information:

“We’re starting to test a feature that permits creators to include collaborators in the video. Collaboration with collaborators lets content be recommended to all of the viewers of the creators. This test is being conducted with a limited number of creators for the first time and we’ll keep you informed of the plans to expand it to other creators.”

As shown in the example from the latest video posted by MrBeast, the new feature lets creators to invite those collaborators who’s avatars on their channel will appear together in the video’s title. In addition, there will be a “and 3 more” “…and three more” tag underneath the title.

This tag when clicked, will display a complete list of all creators who have contributed on the production. The function is akin to the one you can see on platforms such as Instagram or TikTok which have profiles of partners that are included in the description of the video.

A Powerful Promotional Tool

This strategy could be beneficial as a tool for promotion. In highlighting collaborators in the title of the video creators could help bring traffic to their partners channels, and possibly gain more subscribers and views especially when the collaboration is involving an even larger channel.

Collaborations Aren’t New, But This Is a New Approach

Collaborations between creators aren’t entirely new to YouTube, in fact, there’s a whole section of YouTube Academy training resources that teaches creators to collaborate effectively. This new feature gives an easier and more obvious method of highlighting these collaborations.

It makes sure that each creator is given a fair share of credit for their contribution in the creation of the film.

Looking Ahead

Through this simple but powerful feature, YouTube is aligning more with the practices that are already being observed across other channels. The feature is likely to be expanded over the entire YouTube channels, which makes it a fascinating opportunity for creators seeking to expand their reach and promote cross-promotion of their content.

Final Thought

This could be beneficial for creators, as it allows them to gain more attention and promoting collaboration as a crucial component of the YouTube ecosystem. There is a good chance that YouTube will launch this feature more widely within the next few months, allowing an increasing number of creators the chance to profit from the increased visibility.
