X Introduces Option to Sort Post Likes
X introduces a new option to sort post likes, making it easier to see who engaged with content and understand audience interactions.
X has added a helpful option that allows users to sort post likes, making it easier to track and engage with followers based on mutual connections, account influence, and recent interactions.

New Feature to Sort Post Likes
In the newest update of the X app, people can get to it simply by tapping “View Activity” at the bottom right from an expanded post or on “Liked by” in a post preview, and then choosing “More Options.” You can now toggle between sorting likes by “Top” (default) or “Recent,” near the top-right of the likes screen.
Nikita Bier, head of product, suggests that likes from people you are following will appear at the top of the ‘Top’ ranking, making it easy to find ‘big accounts.’
This signal allows users to see who their most influential followers and mutuals are who are currently engaging with the post, as well as whether it has gone viral and received hundreds or thousands of likes.
Rearranging ‘likes’ like this might give users a chance to prioritize better where they’re spending their engagement energy, focusing on uber fans and longtime supporters.
And so for creators and brands, it arguably makes communications with their most valued fans easier, which in turn could lead to better community building and discovery.
Ongoing UI Improvements
Three months into his new role as head of product, several versions of the updated experience and feature improvements he’s been working on to bring users back to X are rolling out.
While perhaps these tweaks will halt the overall market shift towards competitors like Threads. Ideally, they do enough to keep X’s still-active core satisfied by finally addressing long-standing user pain efficiently.
Bottom Line
This may seem like a minor update, but as X works to streamline platform essentials in a social media landscape that is becoming increasingly competitive in the real-time world, each proves critical.
