In order to determine those factors that attract and retain the attention of the audience, this study was carried out in collaboration with WPP and Lumen which focused on 3,000 Indian smartphone users. 

According to Snap:

“Lumen’s proprietary technology measured visual attention across major digital platforms. In a controlled ‘sandbox,’ WPP brands across categories – FMCG, Auto, Quick Service Restaurant and Fashion – ran ads from a single campaign, delivering striking insights.”

Lumen’s strategy combined eye-tracking statistics and follow-up surveys to measure the extent to which users were engaged by both ads and content.

Attention Is Failing: The majority of viewers are focused on only the first 2 seconds of an advertisement. Yet, Gen Z users tend to spread their attention over a longer duration.
