Google Search Console Introduces Achievements Report To Track Milestones
Google Search Console has launched the new Achievements report to help website owners keep track of key SEO milestones.
Google has introduced a new Achievement report inside Search Console, creating a dedicated area for website owners to track goals based on clicks, monitor current progress, and access relevant information and tips.
Achievements Report To Track Milestones
This announcement was made via Google Search Central in LinkedIn and is further explained on Google’s help site.
Google’s announcement reads:
“We’re happy to bring Achievements into Search Console as a new report.
Up until now, you’d receive achievements via email, and it was part of our previous Insights experience. We know users love the milestones, so we thought we’d create a place where you can check them inside Search Console. We hope you like it and reach MANY milestones.”
The report shows one “In progress” achievement at a time, based on recent clicks to Google Search. For example, if an online site achieves 50 clicks within 28 days for the first time, Search Console recognizes this achievement and sends a congratulations email.
The interface of the report is divided into two parts:
- In Progress
- Attained
When you select a milestone, it displays traffic trends in comparison to the preceding 28 days, directs visitors to the primary Insights document, and then provides guidelines and suggestions for improvement.
Representation and Availability
Google stresses that Achievements are an incentive tool to celebrate growth. They are not intended to influence or indicate the way Google’s ranking system operates; therefore, badges should not be considered as a way to signal ranking.
The newly added properties in Search Console may take up to 28 days to gather enough data before milestones begin to appear. Established sites will start to notice accomplishments as soon as information is made available.
Centralizing milestone tracking in Search Console, Google simplifies the process of monitoring progress. Because these goals are linked to clicks, the report suggests creating content that is appealing and pleasing to real-time visitors and aligning efforts to measure engagement.
Bottom Line
Google’s Achievements report provides website owners with an opportunity to celebrate the small victories while maintaining information on growth opportunities that can be acted upon, which promotes a customer-centered approach in SEO performance.
