Google Discontinues Core Web Vitals CrUX Dashboard
Google has announced the discontinuation of the Core Web Vitals CrUX Dashboard, outlining the alternative methods for accessing CrUX data.
Google has announced that it will retire the CrUX Dashboard, a tool built on Looker Studio designed to visualize Core Web Vitals data. The dashboard will be discontinued by the end of November 2025. Google is inviting users to switch to more flexible alternatives, such as CrUX Vis.
CrUX Dashboard Is Being Phased Out
It was originally designed to collect the monthly CrUX data initially. The CrUX Dashboard was widely adopted because Core Web Vitals became the industry standard for evaluating website performance.
But, Google discovered that the dashboard was not intended to be used on an extensive scale and had to face significant hurdles:
“The dashboard suffered frequent outages, especially around the second Tuesday of each month when new data was published.”
The Chrome team determined that the dashboard’s underlying technology was unable to handle the demand.
Transitioning to More Robust Solutions
To address these issues, Google introduced the CrUX History API, which provides weekly updates to data, allowing for faster trend monitoring. The API offered more rapid speed and scalability, which is gaining popularity with third-party tool makers.
In 2024, Google launched CrUX Vis, a brand-new, faster, and more adaptable visualization platform. Currently, CrUX Vis serves around four to five times more users than the old dashboard, indicating a shift in users to these enhanced tools.
CrUX Connector to BigQuery Future
In addition to the dashboard’s demise, Google will also shut down the CrUX Connector to BigQuery until the end of November 2025. Dashboards that rely on this connector may stop updating unless users switch to connecting directly with your own BigQuery login.
Google has cited the connector’s lack of reliability infrastructure as well as the high demands for maintenance as the main reasons behind the decision to end support and focus its efforts on CrUX Vis, the History API, and CrUX Vis.
Despite requests from users to extend the shutdown until 2026, Google said that the timeframe is set. However, it is essential to note that BigQuery CrUX will continue to be a valuable resource.
BigQuery CrUX data will continue to be upgraded and backed, and will be positioned as an essential long-term resource for the public.

Bottom Line
This shift signals Google’s dedication to more robust and adaptable options in Core Web Vitals monitoring, in urging users to adopt CrUX Vis as well as BigQuery to increase accuracy and instantaneous insights.
